Maybe even more basic is pushing someone off a hand when you read them as weak. I overbet the pot on the river at CD .05/.10 when a flush showed thinking he couldn’t call, and he didn’t.

But, you have to be careful with this. Low level players might not be afraid of big hands, or be too stupid to know they should be afraid. If there’s an Ace on the table and they have it, they’re not going anywhere. Push them around and collect big when you have a good kicker or better.

Same with early in SnG/tourneys. I made the mistake of trying to push people off but they don’t go away. Late when the blinds go up it’s a different matter.

And, I don’t want to get into the habit of betting big with bluffs all the time. I need try to get people to call big bets when I have a hand as well. Fortunately at that table I had earlier pushed against a maniac with top pair/decent kicker, he called with a draw that he missed. I think that gave my overbet at the flush more credence. Actually at that point I was using j’s advice of pushing all-in against LAG players as he said they will fold, but in this case he had the straight draw. He was more maniac than LAG anyways.

I should have sent that last message earlier; but it would have been around June 12 or so.

It started a halt to my hot run at $25NL. I started trying a late position steal, willing to show down A9, but then ran into KK getting stacked again with AA. A bad few sessions after that, including another KK losing to AA battle with a short stack who just had AA two hands earlier.

I really need some sort of plan as to how to add more LAG to my game. Something that includes well planned ideas of specific situations that I want to test and add.

I think first, is blind steals, when

1) in late position,
2) no one in the pot,
3) tight preflop players in the blinds
4) cards irrelavent

Fold to a reraise, unless really certain he’s doing this with air.
Fold to a lead bet, unless I’ve hit the hand.
c-bet anything if checked, fold to reraise, unless really certain he’s doing this with air.

Check the turn, unless hit the hand or certain he will fold.

Then there’s the inverse; raising from the blinds with one late limper. j says this implies a very weak hand, which should be true as someone who knows position knows that late position hands can be much weaker for raising than early position. This, by extension, probably indicates a weak player too, although that could be inverted (strong player looking to see if someone will raise/steal).

I think the same situations apply;

1) in blinds,
2) only late limper in the pot,
3) tight preflop players in the hand so far
4) cards irrelavent

Fold to a reraise, unless really certain he’s doing this with air.
If called, expect 1) small pair, 2) connectors, 3) weak Ace

Now, OOP so no fold to lead bet, but,
c-bet any non-scary flop, fold to reraise, unless really certain he’s doing this with air.

Check the turn, unless hit the hand or certain he will fold.
