Dreaming about falling asleep while driving

I woke up this morning two hours too early. This after having gone to bed about an hour late.
I was having a dream where my mother was driving, driving a few of us, and at night. This would be pretty unusual because for the past few years my mother has avoided driving, and especially at night. I was in the front passenger seat and we started to notice that she was driving erratically. Apparently she was falling asleep, and I tried to wake her, to get her to pull over, then tried to reach the brake pedal myself. That’s when I woke up.
Then I couldn’t get back to sleep. I was still tired and my eyes were dry but I just couldn’t sleep. At some point I did though, slowly, but apparently not too long before it was time for my alarm to go off. But boy was I groggy when I got up.
The fogginess hadn’t cleared much by the point that I dropped of my daughter at school. From there I drive to a busy street intersection to turn left. There is a pedestrian crossing light there, and when the traffic is heavy and there are no pedestrians in the area, I get out of my car, walk around back and press the crossing button. The light is quick to change and usually does so before I can get back into my car.
This morning as I got out of my car a woman pulled up behind my car, seeming to give me a bit of a scowl. I went, pushed the button, returned to my car. The light changed just as I went to sit down, and someone honked. There was another car arriving behind, but I think the honk came from this woman.
I already know that road rage has a strong similarity to poker tilt and frustration. Didn’t she think I knew that the light had changed already? Did she not understand that I was initiating the light change? She turned left as well, so she benefited from my push of the pedestrian light. As I drove along I tried to manage my annoyance, but I found that it was much harder to do so when I was so tired.
Remind me not to play poker when I’m tired and groggy.
At least I didn’t fall asleep while driving like my mother did in my dream. Maybe the dream was foreshadowing me driving while tired, but on the other hand it was the dream that caused me to be tired in the first place.
