Bouncing poker echecks

by ~ June 9th, 2009. Filed under: poker.

First Full Tilt, then PokerStars, and apparently the Cerus network of UltimateBet and AbsolutePoker as well and more have had problems with their echeck processors. Players have been reporting cashout checks bouncing, and it’s rumored to be the result of the United States Attorney out of New York stopping echecks from poker sites from being processed.

Friends of mine have started getting emails from Tilt and from Stars as early as June 6 about the payments, and with credits to their accounts for the full amount plus something for their trouble. One instance was a $250 cash out refunded along with a $100 credit, $25 credit at another site, $20 at another. Too bad I didn’t quickly cash out.

The sites apparently are or already have found work-arounds, but the PPA says that some $30 million has been frozen. Check out the PPA site for more info.
